Well, Friendly City Dance Festival started off with a bang on the 3rd of August with all the Hip Hop, Acro, and Tap Items.
What an exciting day!
Our first dancer to grace the stage this year was Tyler Bennett and he was surprised and happy to see more boys in his section than girls. It was his first time dancing at the festival and he had a blast.
Rio ended the first day’s festivities. Well done to Ashleigh the Choreographer for this group and all the dancers who devoted countless Sundays to getting it ready.
Our adjudicators this year were Mrs Leigh-Anne Gorrie for the Tap, Hip-Hop and Acrobatics and Mrs Jacqui Pells for the Ballet and Modern.
The Festival ended on a high note with a beautiful gala concert. Africa (Student Choreography Group by Ashleigh Maling Nel who got a double Gold) danced.
Here are just a few of the photos taken over the past seven days.
Congratulations to everyone who got up on that stage and danced their hearts out.
